Our Garden Is In!

I was beginning to think that we were never going to get our garden in this year!  But, we finally did it on Friday, May 9th!

And just in time for the next round of rain that we got this past week.   We already have beans & corn coming up!

And, I am finally getting a section of my herb garden in!

I still have a lot of work ahead of me in this area, but it’s slowly coming together!  The colored pots contain seeds that, when they are big enough, will be transplanted into the herb garden.  The larger pots contain my different basil plants (sweet, spicy, & cinnamon basil), mints, & fever few.

I absolutely LOVE this time of year!

We recently dealt with a situation that I never really thought could happen to us. We’ve been through numerous tornado warnings (several were very close calls), but we have NEVER had to deal with the threat of a fire!

To find out what happened & how we coped with the situation, head on over to Heritage Homesteaders.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

April is one of my favorite months out of the year.  But, this year, I think I was so busy that I almost missed it!  One of the reason’s that it’s one of my favorite months is it’s our anniversary.  This year, we celebrated 20 wonderful years together!  Brian and I decided to get away for a few days and went to one of our favorite places to go:  Pigeon Forge, TN!  The weather was absolutely perfect!  No rain, warm during the day, and nice, cool nights.  Perfect for a couple’s retreat!

Big change in 20 years, huh?

For our actual anniversary day, we met for breakfast at the local Cracker Barrel restaurant, and my sweet husband bought me a dozen red roses!  ❤  We had treated ourselves to new wedding rings while we were away, so we didn’t really do anything else that day.  Of course, his working night shift at the time also had something to do with that.

While I didn’t take a lot of pics this time, we had a wonderful time seeing some of our favorite sites, looking at all the cars that had come to the annual “Rod Run,” and just enjoying being together.  While our marriage has had its fair share of ups and downs, we have weathered it all together.  I love him more now than I ever thought possible, even 20 years ago!  I knew he was the man God had chosen for me and I have never had any doubts.

“Happy Anniversary, Brian! May God bless us with many more happy years together!”
