~A Touch of Whimsy~

Today is our oldest daughter’s 15th birthday!  It’s hard to believe that so many years have already passed.  She is growing into a beautiful young lady.
For her birthday this year, she had a couple of friends over for a sleepover.  Instead of my just making her a cake, I baked a bunch of cupcakes and they each picked out a color for some icing, and then they all decorated their own.  We also had my parents and my soon-to-be adopted brothers and a friend of theirs here  = 8 kids in all.
Our kids: Melia, Katie & Michael
Melia’s friends:  Bridget & Brittany
My new soon-to-be adopted brothers: Dallas & Travis, and a friend of theirs, Ryan.

Each one had a blast decorating their own.

As you can see from the colors, they all chose bright, vivid colors.

But they all turned out great!

There was so much laughing and memory making going on.

A cake made my mom is great, but getting in there to make it yourself with your friends is even better!
IMG_0026 Happy 15th Birthday, Melia!  I pray that you will allow Christ to guide your steps as you prepare to enter the world of adulthood.  May God grant you the wisdom that you need to always make the right choices, and may you always put Him first in your life.
Love,
Mom

  2. That is a great idea. I think my 3-1/2 year old would enjoy it, but I'm sure it was even better for a teenager! Those cupcakes look REALLY yum. I could go for a few (yeah, I said it, a few!) right now. Mmmn.
