Menu Plan: 09/19 – 09/26

Well, after weeks of craziness and of my nonmenu-planning creating even more havoc, I’ve decided that I HAVE to make the time to create a menu for this week because this week does not look any better as far as craziness goes, and we’re all sick of the same ol’ take out or quick crab meals.  As a frugalite, I have really failed in the area of menu planning and grocery shopping these paste few weeks.  Sometimes you have to give somewhere when things are extremely hectic, and this is the one area that just had to give.  

But, with fall in the air, it’s finally soup weather again so that’s what we’re going to do this week – lots of soups and slow cooker meals that will also create plenty of leftovers.  This will free up my time this week to get done all of the things that I need to get done.  I have at least 2 birthday cakes to make as well as a bunch of cupcakes, cookies, & brownies for the yard sale/bakes sale archery fund raiser this week.  So, here is my menu plan for the week:

Breakfast:

  • eggs, bacon, & toast
  • yogurt with fruit and/or granola
  • pancakes

Lunch:

  • sandwiches
  • leftovers

Dinner:

  • Clam Chowder
  • Beef stew in the slow cooker
  • Baked potato soup
  • Spaghetti with garlic bread
  • Cook out for my grandmother’s 80th birthday on Friday
  • Chicken & dumplings (?) 
  • Leftovers

Menu Plan: 07/11 – 07/17

Well, the kids are back home and boy can I tell it!  LOL  Lots of laundry, dirty dishes, etc.  But, I wouldn’t have it any  other way! Well, this week is going to be another crazy one.  I have a cousin who is getting married this coming Saturday and I’m making the cake, so I’m going to try to keep the menu very simple this week so that I have the time that I need to work as well as get the cake done on time.  So, this weeks menu plan will be simple and easily changeable. 

 

Breakfast:

  • Homemade pancakes, bacon, & eggs
  • I bought a couple of cans of Pillsbury’s cinnamon rolls & orange rolls to fix this week
  • fresh fruit

Lunch:

  • Sandwiches
  • Leftovers

Dinner:

  • Sunday we had hot dogs with chips & dip
  • Monday we stopped at Wendy’s since we were an hour from home and it was already about 8:30.  I know – it’s not frugal but better than an angry mob!  LOL

The rest of the week will be:

  • Crock Pot pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes
  • Crock Pot chili  – we’ll have either bowls of chili or Petros
  • Spaghetti or grilled cheese sandwiches
  • Leftovers
  • Saturday – not sure since we’ll be gone to a wedding most of the day.  We’ll probably grab something on the way home

We’ve also got lots of birthday cake leftover from Katie’s birthday that we’ll be working on this week.  LOL – I think we’re going to be pretty tired of cake by the end of the week.

Menu Plan: 06/28 – 07/04

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted a menu plan (and I’m late this week) and I’ve missed having one!  It sure does make dinner time easier.  But, with a computer crash, trying to get a new one up and running, and then having 2 kids gone to camp,well, I slacked off and didn’t come up with one. Thankfully, we did pretty well and really didn’t eat out, but the usual “what’s for dinner” and “I’m not sure yet” came up quite often. But, this week, I have a plan in place and will be sticking to it!  We mat end up eating out on Friday because we’ll be down in Chattanooga for the day, but it all depends on what time we get back.

 

Breakfast:

  • pancakes
  • eggs, bacon, toast
  • yogurt with fruit

Lunch:

  • sandwiches
  • leftovers

Dinner (in no particular order):

  • Pizza
  • Grilled  cheese sandwiches with (?)
  • Salmon patties with baked potatoes and another veggie
  • Crock pot beef stew with homemade rolls
  • Dinner out on Friday (?) or spaghetti if we get back in time
  • Leftovers
  • Grilled hamburgers/hot dogs for the 4th
