Menu Plan: Nov. 1 – Nov. 7., 2009

Wow!  Where has the year gone?  This week is supposed to be chilly again which means good soup & slow cooker weather!  My favorite!  And my menu will definitely reflect that.  I love making soups & stews!  Not only do they warm the body but they will feed us at least 2 good meals, if not 3!  I love cooking once and getting at least 2 meals from it.  What a time saver!

Breakfast:

  • Bagels with cream cheese
  • eggs, bacon, toast

Lunches:

  • Sandwiches
  • leftovers

Dinner:

  • Poor Man’s soup
  • Chicken & Dumplings
  • Venison Stew
  • Clam chowder
  • Spaghetti with sauce and possibly garlic bread
  • Leftovers

Menu Plan: 10/04 – 10/10

It’s been another busy week.  We’ve been working on phase 2 of our remodel and are pretty much done.  I’ll try to get pics up in the next couple of days. Let me just say that it’s so nice to have hot water again!

We’re still trying to eat out of the pantry as much as possible, but I did have to go to the store last week, especially for some items for school lunches.  I pretty much ran out of the staples that I keep on hand for them.  But, they lasted me 2 months, so that was pretty good.   I really do need to do some baking this week for them.  It’s been way too long.   But, let’s start with a menu first and then go from there.

It’s Fall, so I really start thinking about more soups and stews this time of year and my menus will probably start reflecting that.

Breakfast:

  • Bagels with cream cheese
  • Cereal
  • Bacon, eggs, & toast

Lunch:

  • Sandwiches
  • Soup
  • Leftovers
  • Ham & cheese roll ups

Sides will be:

  • pretzels
  • grapes
  • apples
  • carrot sticks
  • inside-out cupcakes
  • homemade cookies

Dinner:

  • Crock Pot Beef Stew
  • Spaghetti & Sauce, garlic bread, & maybe a salad
  • Chicken & Dumplings
  • Homemade Pizza
  • Leftovers
