and for that I am very thankful. It’s actually been a very busy month, but whose counting (besides me)? We’ve had 8th grade and 5th grade graduations as well as a 5th grade Honor’s Tea, and then a class trip to Dollywood. I’ll be making separate blog entries about the graduations!

Then today, Katie had choir practice at church this morning, and then we decided to take on culling our 4 young roos. Now that all of that is done, I’m wore out, but I’ve got to come up with something for our Homecoming Dinner at church tomorrow afternoon. Chicken, maybe? LOL It’s a good possibility.

I can tell you one thing though, my back is killing me! I’m ready to hit the hay, but there’s still daylight so my day is not done. Tomorrow, I will definitely be resting. I’m so glad that school is finally out for the summer. I think the kids are, too!

This is the very special person I was telling you about!  My dear friend and sister in Christ, Tammy!  She is the owner of the frugal site Frugal Families.  If you’ve not checked it out, please do so.  Don’t forget to check out the front page and the forums.  They are FULL of lots of frugal advice and information!

We had such a great time together.  Our children are all roughly the same ages and really enjoyed each other!  We spent some time at the Tennessee Aquarium our first day, and then went to eat some of the best southern BBQ we’ve ever had at a restaurant called Sticky Fingers!  We also went to The Lost Sea together, then they went to Ruby Falls, Look Out Mountain, and the Incline Railroad on another day. 

I taught her how to make chicken fried steak with gravy, homemade biscuits, and showed them how good sausage gravy and chocolate gravy are!  She showed me how to start piecing a quilt!  I can’t wait to try some more on my own (if I ever find time, that is). 

Tammy, you are more dear to me than you’ll ever know, and I can’t wait to see you again!  We’re definitely trying to plan to come up your way next Summer!
