God’s Handiwork

sunrise 1

“…He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.” – 2 Samuel 23:4

“His splendor was like the sunrise, rays flashed from his hand where his power was hidden.” – Habakkuk 3:4

This is what I had the privilege of witnessing this morning. Seeing all of those beautiful colors first thing in the morning or just before bed makes me stop and breathe and just say “Wow”. It reminds me of the many blessings in my life and that I have been blessed to live and witness another day.

Sunrises and sunsets have always been a weakness for me. I look at them and am reminded of how awesome God is! He truly is a master artist.

Take the time today to look around and enjoy the splendor of God’s love for us in his many creations.

Field Trip Day!

What a wonderful day I had today!  I went with my son on a field trip to see Seussical:  The Dr. Seuss Musical.  It was wonderful!  If this comes to your area, I would highly recommend it.  I wish I could have taken pictures during the production, but they were not allowed.  I did, however, get a picture of the curtain.  They did an awesome job with it!

And here’s a picture of my son, hamming it up for the camera, as usual.

In the play, the main story centered around the stories of Horton, (“Horton Hears A Who” &  “Horton Hatches An Egg” ), but it also combined several other stories and their characters.  Of course, you’ve got “The Cat In The Hat” telling the story, and the young man playing that role did an awesome job, as did all of the other actors.  All of the children really enjoyed the play!

I know that, if I get the chance before it’s over, I would definitely like to take my entire family to see it!

Is It Spring Yet?

It’s hard to believe that it’s March already. This year is already off to a speedy start. Next Sunday ends Daylight Savings time, and then spring really is just around the corner (21st). I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m definitely ready for spring. I’m ready for warmer weather. There are signs all around that spring is close at hand.

I’m praying that this weekend will be dry so that we can turn our garden. It’s been too wet every weekend here lately so we’ve not been able to do it before now. I’m so itching to feel the dirt between my toes, see rows of dirt just waiting for the precious seeds that we will plant, then waiting for the first signs of life, that there will so be rows and rows of yummy goodness just waiting to be picked and either eaten or preserved for next winter.

I’m anxious to see the trees in full bloom again and to feel the soft green grass tickling my feet as I walk barefoot in the yard. I can’t wait for the warm, windy days when we can go out in the front field and fly kites.

Don’t get me wrong. I do NOT want this year to go any faster, I would actually like to slow it down, but this time of year always has me wishing for the time when I can get my hands (and feet) dirty. I guess, for now, I’ll have to be content with dreaming of what my garden will be like full of home grown goodness!
