Forgive my absence, please

My work load has been very heavy the last couple of weeks, plus we’ve had another death in the family. This one was my father-in-law’s first cousin in Texas.  They were close and he wanted to go, so Brian and I, as well as one of Brian’s sisters, have been staying with my mother-in-law.  She is not able to travel due to health issues, so we volunteered to take shifts staying with her in case she was to fall.  She can still pretty much take care of herself, but she is known to fall occasionally so someone really needs to be here.  So, that’s what I’ve been up to this week.  I have the first shift so I’m here most of the day. But, that’s OK.  I enjoy spending time with my mother-in-law.   I’ve had a good week,  just tiring.

Hopefully, I’ll be back to posting more again!!  I miss posting on my blog and reading other’s blogs!  But, family comes first!  I’ll have a special post(s) next week about a very special person in my life, so keep your eyes open!  This person means a whole lot to me and I can’t wait to share with you all!

Menu Plan 04/06/09

MPM

Sorry to post this so late.  Time got away from me.  Anyway, here’s my menu plan for the week:

  • Grilled cheese sandwiches made with HM bread, roasted red bell peppers and garlic.
  • baked potato soup
  • spaghetti with sauce and garlic bread
  • HM pizza
  • leftovers from the week (my big cooking day for Easter dinner so I’m not cooking dinner, too!  LOL)
  • Easter dinner on Saturday
  • Leftovers

Nothing really fancy, but I have everything on hand so it will be a frugal week!   Don’t forget to check out Organizing Junkie for more great menu plans and ideas!

And the waiting begins…………

Today, is the day. I received the hatching eggs I ordered on Saturday, and today is the day that they go in the incubator. I ordered a dozen Blue/Black/Splash Orpington eggs. The lady I ordered them from sent 14, but the USPS decided to play kickball with my box and crushed it in on one side. Thankfully, I managed to only lose one so far. I’m not sure how the other 13 will fair, but we’ll see what happens over the next 3 weeks. I also set 17 of my own Buff Orpington eggs for a total of 30 eggs that I hope to hatch. It’s going to be an egg-citing, but long, 21 days of waiting!
Here they are:
